When ever you are going for that long trip to the lovely mountains or for tanning yourself at the sandy beaches ,you must not forget to take along a medical kit.The contents may vary depending on your itinerary,duration of stay,style of stay and local medical facilities.While most of the medicine are available at the cities but you can face problem if you are high up in the hilly or isolated from the populations.Therefore it is recommended that you accompany a complete supply of medication.
In the kit the short term traveller can carry:
an antipyretic(Paracetamol-for fever)
an analgesic(nimusulide or diclofenac).an anti-diarrheal(for eg. furazolidone)
anti histamine (for eg. cetrizine)
oral rehydration solution
a laxative
a sunscreen
insect repellent for skin
antimalarial if the area you are visiting
is endemic.
In case of long term traveller,thye medication include:
a broad spectrum general purpose
antibiotic(for eg.Azithromycin)
an antibacterial eye drop
an antibacterial skin ointment
an anti fungal cream.
Regardless of the duration of stay a first aid kit containing items such as scissors,tweezers and bandages should be taken along.
