Gangotri trip

I wish to go somewhere i can admire the creativity of god ....a place which vibrates with His presence.I think i have found out that place and i am planning my next travel trip to Gangotri. As i have heard it is a beautiful place with quiet surrounding where sadhus take a dip in ice cold water .I just imagine myself along the ice capped mountains and a ice glacier in my site. What fun will that be i am excited like a little kid.Nowadays its raining there and i have read about a landslide there but i think it will be over by one month and that's the time a child will meet with his Creator.
At Gangotri there is a temple devoted to goddess Ganga and a sacred place where Bhagirath is believed to worship Lord Shiva. The origin of river Ganga is at Gaumukh, which is 18 km from the Gangotri temple. The river is called Bhagirathi at its origin and gets the name Ganga as it reaches the Devprayag.
The Gangotri temple is the central point of the village and devotees from around the globe come to pay homage to Ganga river. The semwal priests perform the rituals at the temple.

Gaumukh is the starting point of river Ganga and trekking enthusiasts regard Gangotri as the starting point for Gangotri-Gaumukh-Tapovan and Gangotri-Gaumukh-Kedartal trekking routes. The verdant valleys, green forests and snow capped mountains provide the trekkers with divine experience.
According to mythology King Bhagirath meditated for many years to absolve the sins done by his predecessors.Brahma's daughter Ganga was transformed into river Ganga to undo the curse of sage Kapil.Lord Shiva himself received the Ganga in his matted locks to soften the impact of Ganga falling from heaven to earth.
